Procedure for Degree Application

At thesis writing, a student is required researcher’s ethics as a researcher.

All graduate students in Degree Program in Pure and Applied Sciences and applicants for Doctoral Degree by Dissertation (論文博士 Ronbun Hakase) are required to undertake research ethics education.
Graduate students must promptly take the research ethics education provided by the University of Tsukuba, “Research Ethics e-learning APRIN e-learning program (eAPRIN)” (or “Research Ethics e-learning “eL CoRE””) after admission.

Applicants for Doctoral Degree by Dissertation (論文博士 Ronbun Hakase) who have not taken a course in research ethics while enrolled must complete the individually accessible course “Research Ethics e-learning ‘eL CoRE'” before applying for the degree review application.

Please submit your application documents in accordance with the instructions of your affiliated degree program/sub-program/major.

Please read the examples carefully and prepare your documents without errors.

Doctoral Degree by Dissertation (論文博士 Ronbun Hakase)

The following persons are eligible to request a review.

(1) Persons who have been enrolled in the Degree Program in Pure and Applied Sciences for more than 3 years, dropped withdrawal after acquiring the required credit, and within 5 years of withdrawal.

(2) Persons who have been enrolled in the Doctoral Program in the Graduate School Pure and Applied Sciences for more than 3 years, withdrawal after acquiring the required credit, and within 5 years of withdrawal.

For the application procedure for “Doctoral Degree by Dissertation (論文博士 Ronbun Hakase)”, please inquire to the Graduate School Affairs, Academic Service Office for the Pure and Applied Sciences Area.

Names on Thesis, Degree Application Documents and Degree Certificates

In principle, name including English name and furigana, on the degree application documents and your theses should be written as same as of TWINS.
