Engineering Sciences

With the rapid progress of science and technology, the development of new materials that support industrial infrastructure and advanced science and technology is required. In addition, with the progress of human economic activity, various problems such as energy, resources and global environment have arisen, and their solutions are also required. The Degree Program in Engineering Science promotes research and education aiming at solving these problems, by building on the natural sciences centered on physics and by using its principles freely.

The Degree Program in Engineering Science consists of the following three Subprograms; Subprogram in Applied Physics, which focuses on measurement and device development, Subprogram in Materials Science, which focuses on materials development, and Subprogram in Materials Science and Engineering, with researchers belonging to the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) in charge of research and education.
